Working with clay

We have been learning about the Romans. We have made magnificent busts from brown clay called air dry clay. We had to mould the clay and then we added water to sculpt it.

Gymnastics showcase!

Today some of the lower school took part in the gym competition and on Wednesday some of the upper school will take part in it too! They did the warm up routine first and then they did the actual competition. The vaults were AMAZING! In case you don’t know what a vault is; it’s when a person runs up and leaps on to a table from a springboard and jumps off landing with their feet together.

On Tuesday 7th July, I took part in the gymnastics showcase for our lower school.  We performed a sequence which included a cartwheel, a forward roll and a backward roll.  Our routine also contained an arabesque which is a balance.  I felt scared because everyone in the school and parents were watching us perform. At the end of our sequence we presented to show we had finished.

I loved watching the brilliant gymnasts perform their lovely routines today.  When I saw the routines, I was quite surprised at how great they were and when we came out I came out with a smile! Everybody did well. WELL DONE EVERYONE! I loved it! Mrs Holton said “Very well done for your achievements!”

The end of year show

Last week our school put on a show that was about putting on a show! We sung lots of songs. Our favourite songs were ‘Nothing to do’ and ‘Let’s put on a show’. My part in the play was of a stage hand and my friend was a Roman Soldier. The first scene was about children who were bored so they decided to put on a show.Their first act was the line dance. The second act was a Matilda dance and song.
